Livingston Parish Assessor Launches Online Homestead Exemption Form

The Livingston Parish Assessor’s Office is proud to be able to announce that we have launched the online homestead exemption form. In the midst of COVID, it was important for us to be able to extend contactless technology to the people of Livingston Parish. This was a joint effort between our office and the assessor’s office in Ascension Parish. This is not only about convenience, but now about safety as well. WAFB reported on the launch of the new technology HERE.

Ascension Parish Assessor Mert Smiley and Livingston Parish Assessor Jeff Taylor, announced a new online homestead exemption form.

The joint effort between the two parishes assessor’s offices gives qualifying homeowners the chance to fill out and submit the form in a timely manner in order to receive the $75,000 property assessment exemption.

“The homestead exemption form is typically completed in person and in the assessor’s office,” said Taylor. “Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we have worked to make this form available online and upgrade verification tools to ensure there are no double homesteads.”

We’re proud to be able to be a technology leader when it comes to Assessor’s Offices.
